We♥k

This week the weather was pretty dull for summer so I didn't went to the beach once. I tried to ocupied my time with DIYs and I come up with some pretty nice ideas. My favourite was this painting that I hang on my bedroom wall, that is a representation of books I've read that I will never forget :)

I started by drawing with a pencil, and then I used watercolors and black fine-tipped pen.

I remember I had this lights stored somewhere from when I was younger. Now, they hang from my mirror and make it look much prettier!

As my room takes shape, I love it more and more. This is a detail of my nightstand that includes my lamp's foot, two candles, a plate where i keep some lost jewelry and some books.

My mom bought this to me when she was in London last month and finally this week it found a place to stay in my workshop :) I think it's so lovely! Thank you Mom!

Another thing my Mom brought from London was this lampshade that comes with 30 elements that you link (like a puzzle) to create different forms. I did the classic round one for now but you can always change it. You can buy one here.

Studs all around

I love to mix all kinds of bracelets and one of my favourite type of bracelets are the studed ones, I think they look badass. So today I tough I would show you guys how to make one. It's really simple, you just have to be a bit perfectionist if you want it to look good.

So this is what you'll need:

2 simple silver bracelets; silver studs (17); pliers.

 Let's start:
Tighten the stud around one of the bracelets; make sure to press it with the pliers.

Then, attach the other bracelet to the stud.

Keep adding studs, repeating the same process.

This is how it should look.

Add studs all around the bracelets and you're done!

Belt Organizer

As I've already told you guys, I'll be posting a lot of Home Decor DIYs for a while. The one I bring you today it's a belt organizer wich, I think, it's very helpfull.
You will need a long board. The one I used was 50cm (19,5') long. A wire hanger that you can cut. Hooks, as many as you want (I used 10). And finaly some ribbon for decorating. When it comes to tools you should have a ruler, pencil, glue, cutting pliers, and a bradawl.

How to:

*Mark where you want your hooks to be. Mine was 2,5cm at each end and then 5cm between each hook. Find the middle of the board where you will put the top part of the hanger.

* Cut your wire hanger as seen in the picture and, where you've marked the middle, make a hole using the bradawl and glue the top part of the hanger.

*While it dries, start attaching the hooks to your board using the help of the bradawl.

*Now you can decorate it as you like! I used two types of ribbons and I only glue it  on the back because this glue leaves quite a mark on the fabric.

*Once you've finished you can place a hook on your closet door (or any place you like) so you can hang your belt organizer.

*And here it is! Hope you guys try it, it's easy and very usefull :)

We♥k

This week was basicly dedicated to DIYs (as I said on my last post, I'm redecorating my room). I love creative work like this, it is so good for your mind and I feel that it's one of the few times of my day where I'm actually not thinking of any problems I might have.

Tuesday I went to the movies to watch Ted (don't know if you guys are fans of family guy or not, but if you are, the movie is hilarious) and because me and my bf where dreaming about jelly beans for quite some time we went to a candyshop and bought way to many sweets. Obviously the next day we still had a bunch of them! I took the chance to leave a little gift to my mom.

Some sweets I left for my Mom :)

I had lost this earring so many years ago that I didn't even remember it. I'm really happy I got it back and I think it's great for summer!

Poisonous looking cupcakes I baked for my Dad who just arrived from a very long business trip. I'm really happy he's back ♥

View from my sister's living room. What a beautiful night it was :)

Some black and red berries I found when I went for a hike this Sunday with a couple of friends.

Return

Hi guys. I'm sorry I stopped posting for such a long time. There is actually no excuse, because when we want do something we can always find time to do it. I can say that it has been some crazy times, with nacional exames, changing college, changing town... But I actually have been in summer vacations for a couple of weeks now, but I just wasn't feeling like posting. But this changed and I hope for good.
But with this come back, new things are coming. I haven't feel like blogging but I never stopped DIYing and I have a lot of good ideas and pictures for you guys. Also I just made the biggest purchase of my life! I bought a new camera (I spent almost every money I had put aside), a Canon 600D! I'm really happy with it since I've been dreaming with it for almost two years although it's hard to give so much money like that. But it has so much quality!
So, I'm planning a few changes that I hope will please you all :)

Oh! And I'm redecorating my room and my workshop so I have a bunch of Home decorating ideas to share with you!

Sneak peek of a future DIY!

Moss Graffiti

So I saw this at 9gag a few weeks ago... What do you think? I absolutly love it and I'm definitely going to try it! Maybe I'll do it onto a wood board so it isn't so permanent. But definitely something to keep in mind!

DIY: Vintage Inspired Placemats

I really like this style of home decor where you combine the vintage style with vibrant colors. And because old frames are one of my favourite pieces I thought of giving it a go.
I found this red simple placemats at the dollar store and thought that I could do something to to make them stand out. You can obviously use some old ones you have at home as this will be a great way to reuse them.
I stated by drawing the shape that I wanted on the back and then cut it. If you can't find the inspiration to make your one outline you can google it and find thousand of old frames stencils, moldes, ect.

You can use it in many other ways, for example in a wall or maybe just under same vases. It's your choice :)

DIY: cascade bracelet

This is my new favourite bracelet! I've worn it almost every day and I just can't get enough. All though it is quite easy to make, it may be hard to find the right beads. I was lucky to have this ones already. You can also make it as a necklace but i thought a bracelet would be better only because my last DIY was already a cascade necklace, but once again I just can't get enough. I love everything about it.

 Here is the video tutorial:

I hope you like it as much as I do!

DIY: Cascade Pendant Necklace

I made this necklace last week but I've only come around to post it here today, sorry for that! I've already worn it and everybody liked it a lot so I hope you guys like it too :) I was inspired by that spike necklaces trend it's going around, that I really enjoy. It's easier to make than it seems and you can make it with any spike looking beads you like.

Green Garden

I miss lying in the grass and feel the sun warm me up before you feel too much heat and escape to the shade, and perhaps leaving only the feet to the sun.
Not having a garden, it becomes harder to be able to have these moments so I save them for when I visit my grandparents, who have a beautiful garden.
I do not know about you guys, but when I dream of my dream house I always imagine a small terrace and a garden. So I leave you here pictures that inspire me in those moments, and that I keep for future reference on how to decorate my so desired garden.

This last one is for those who only have a balcony but still haven't gave up the dream :)

DIY: handpiece with black bead

Sorry for the delay! Yesterday was a full day and between get ready for the special night and finish editing the video I didn't find the time to publish it. This is an easy piece to do especially if you have done similar things before, like working with chains and wire. Also if you know where to buy the chain it can be very inexpensive too. I bought it in a dollar store. For the bead you can use an extra one you have laying around or you can buy one but I'm pretty sure it will not be very expensive either.

Check out the video tutorial

I heard you like chains

Today I leave you with the photo that inspired me for my next DIY that I will probably post Tuesday. I hope you like it!

DIY: Red Rose Ring

There is only a couple of days until Valentine's day and so I decided to make a really easy and quick DIY that can be worn on the special day :) I've seen rose rings in so many stores and my reaction is always the same, "so easy to make"! So I decided I would do it in time for Valentine's. Although I think it will be pretty cute to wear in Spring too!
I like working with polymer clay since it's so easy to mold and you can do so many different things!

Ps: Better video quality! Finally!

DIY: Hex Nuts and Ribbon Necklace

Today I bring you another necklace tutorial. I really like the effect of hex nuts on jewelry and there are great DIY's around the net using them (check the ones at Honestly WTF). I tought about combine them with ribbon to soften them a little and to create this hard/lady like look. I really like it. I hope you guys try it since it's so easy and cheap to make. I didn't spend more than 2€.
Here is the video tutorial

Everything you need to make this necklace can be found in a drougstore
